Day 199: Hermanus

The weather is a bit autumnal, just like yesterday. It could be on the German North Sea coast. But what's not to find there are the whales.

Once again, we're so lucky!

We take an Uber to Hermanus (about 7 km) and walk along the Cliff Path. Rough sea and thousands of whitecaps. Nothing to see. It's not until we're quite far into the bay that we see one or two whales blowing. And just as we arrive at Gearings Point, a whale appears and does us the favor of jumping. What more could we want?!

A quick sushi snack, a quick trip to the whale museum – we're getting a bit chilly.

Back to the lookout point – and: A whale with a calf is swimming leisurely right in front of the surf. Wow!

Cold again. So we find a cafe and then take an Uber back to the campsite.

In the afternoon, we have a pleasant chat with our campsite neighbors, Jane and Mike.

Then, in the evening, we have a pizza nearby.
