Day 198: De Hoop Nature Reserve – Hermanus (Onrus Caravan Park)
Cape Agulhas. The southernmost point of the African continent. Here we are, having traveled the continent from top to bottom. And reached the equator at two points: in Congo Brazzaville and Uganda. The Atlantic accompanied us along the west coast from Morocco to Angola; we enjoyed the view of the Indian Ocean in Tanzania and South Africa, and have now arrived back at the Atlantic.
In just over two years, or around 17 months, Becky has taken us over 70,000 km, some through sand, over dirt roads, and over hill and dale.
What an experience we've had and how many wonderful people we've met. So many experiences and memories!
And we're somehow proud that we managed it!
We continue on to Hermanus, or rather, the Onrus Caravan Park a little further west. And we'll also get a visit from Andreas, who lives here and whom we met briefly in Maun in mid-September 2024. Thanks for all the tips and encouragement we received from him during our trip.
In the evening, we take a short walk to "Milk at the Beach" and toast our anniversary.
By the way: Today is also the day of the pensioner discounts :-). At lunch, we only pay half price for mussels or fried calamari, and we also get half price at the campsite.
